Second Annual Clean Up with the Cadets a Success!

On Saturday February 5th, your Strathcona CPC volunteers were joined by the Vancouver PD Cadet program to help clean up garbage and discarded syringes in the community.

Over 60+ cadets came out on a Saturday morning and after a team breakfast, they were split into teams, each led by a Strathcona CPC Volunteer, and assigned a specific route around Strathcona. Over two hours, these teams covered almost the entire neighbourhood and picked up the equivalent of 70 Bags of garbage off our streets, sidewalks and parks.

Strathcona CPC Executive Director Dan Turvill said, "Our Community Clean Up program is one of our favourites. You get to immediately see a tangible impact you have on the community, and all of the Thank You's and Kudos you get from friendly neighbours makes all of the effort and planning worth it."

A big thank you to Cst. Mark Baird of the VPD, and all of the VPD Cadets. Your generosity, professionalism and work ethic is second to none.
