Local young professionals join clean up

On Saturday November 27, the Strathcona CPC held our bi-monthly community clean up. This time our volunteers were joined by a small group from the Vancouver Rotoract Young Professionals club. The connection was made by community champion and advocate, Ron Suzuki.

The group collected a total of 9 Large bags of garbage and 5 discarded needles and removed them from the street with the help of the City of Vancouver sanitation crew.

Executive Director Dan Turvill said "We absolutely love it when members of the general public come out and help our dedicated volunteer team. It shows a real pride and passion for the Strathcona neighbourhood. This is one of our favourite programs we operate since we can immediately see the tangible benefit you have made on the community."

Community Clean Ups happen twice a month, on Saturdays from 10:00am to 12:00pm. Community members are encouraged to join as for a one time event, or to become full time volunteers with the Strathcona CPC.
